This natural park is one of Gipuzkoa’s wonders of nature. Its fascinating viewpoint is the highest summit of all Gipuzkoa. This mountain is formed by various mountain ranges and was named after one of the greatest peaks of the highest mountain range in Gipuzkoa, Aizkorri, rocky pinnacle crowned with Holy Christ’s Hermitage. The ancient paved road uniting Flanders to Castile goes across the south side of the mountain, traversing one of the region’s most famous geographical features: the tunnel of San Adrián. The prairies of Urbia, heart of the Natural Park, are renowned since pre-historic times, accredited by the uncountable standing stones that spatter the valley’s plains. The most important tree is the beech, constituting one of the most important woods of Gipuzkoa.
