Arantzazu is located within the Aizkorri-Aratz Natural Park. Declared a Natural Park in 2006, it covers 19,400 hectares and is visited by 300,000 visitors each year. The highlights are its mountain chain which together with the Aralar mountain range, constitutes one of the most important ecological corridors uniting the Pyrenees with the Cantabrian mountains; and the rocky wall which extends between Aratz and AloƱa mountains, where the highest summits of the Basque Autonomous Region can be found, i.e., Aitxuri (1,551 m) and Aizkorri (1,544 m).
